USVI King of Wings Contest

We anchored right off the beach a Magens Beach

There was even a little beach art by the contest
We went to the 6th annual US Virgin Islands King of Wings Contest! This is a contest of who makes the best chicken wings in the Virgin Islands. There are many categories, but the two big ones are restaurant and non-restaurant.  We sailed into Magens Bay and anchored right off the beach where the contest was held.

They set up the booths and start cooking wings!

It was a great day of eating and drinking. There really isn’t much to say about it except it was well attended, fun, and the proceeds went to a children’s charity. There was a DJ and a bar at each end of the booths to make getting drinks easier. The wings were barbecued, boiled, or deep fat fried with a variety of sauces from mild to really hot! The pictures really tell the story.

You bought tickets for the wings, $20 for 20 tickets and a
ticket per wing, so we got 40, and the drinks were cash
